## Biography

Kahlil Gibran, born Gibran Khalil Gibran in Bsharri, Lebanon, on January 6, 1883, was a celebrated Lebanese-American writer, poet, and visual artist. Growing up in a Maronite Christian family, he exhibited an early aptitude for art. In 1895, his mother, seeking a better life, moved the family to Boston, Massachusetts. There, Gibran learned English and continued to cultivate his artistic and literary talents, eventually publishing in both Arabic and English. His work often explored themes of love, longing, and spiritual mysticism, influenced by his deep religious nature. A significant turning point came with the publication of his philosophical essays and prose poems. His most renowned masterpiece, The Prophet, released in 1923, gained international acclaim, cementing his legacy as a profound voice. Gibran passed away in New York City on April 10, 1931, leaving behind a timeless body of work that continues to inspire readers worldwide.
