## Biography

Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, born on August 27, 1770, in Stuttgart, Germany, became one of the most significant figures in German idealism and Western philosophy. Educated at the University of Tübingen, where he studied classics, philosophy, and theology, Hegel initially worked as a private tutor before embarking on an academic career. He held professorships at the Universities of Jena, Heidelberg, and eventually Berlin, where his lectures garnered widespread acclaim despite his notoriously difficult delivery. Hegel developed a comprehensive philosophical system known as absolute idealism, which sought to account for reality as a unified whole and correct what he viewed as untenable dualisms in modern thought. His most enduring contribution is the dialectical method, emphasizing the progression of ideas through thesis, antithesis, and synthesis, reflecting historical and intellectual development. His work profoundly influenced diverse fields, from metaphysics and political philosophy to the philosophies of art and religion, leaving an indelible mark on subsequent philosophical movements. He died on November 14, 1831, in Berlin.
