# Anne Boykin

## Biography

Anne Boykin is a distinguished nursing scholar and author known for her influential work on caring in nursing. She grew up in Little Chute, Wisconsin, and dedicated her career to the field. Boykin earned her baccalaureate degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee and a Master's in Nursing from Emory University in Atlanta. Her early career included practical nursing experience before she transitioned into academia, teaching at various colleges and universities. Dr. Boykin served as Dean and Professor Emeritus at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, where she was instrumental in co-creating an innovative, caring-based nursing program. She is internationally recognized for her scholarship, co-authoring several foundational texts, including "Nursing as Caring: A Model for Transforming Practice" and "Living a Caring-Based Program." Her writings have significantly contributed to the understanding and practice of caring within the nursing discipline. She is married to Stephen Staudenmeyer and has four children.
