## Biography

William Lemoine Bade was an American academic, physicist, and science fiction author, born on April 5, 1928, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was known for his contributions to the field of hard science fiction, with his publishing career spanning from 1948 to 1953. Bade also worked as a physicist for NASA. His debut story, "Advent," appeared in Astounding in January 1948, marking the beginning of a short series of five tales. Another notable work was "Ambition," published in Galaxy in October 1951. Beyond his Advent series, Bade penned three other stories. He passed away on February 12, 2005, in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
