## Biography

Anthony Trollope, born in London on April 24, 1815, was a prolific English novelist of the Victorian era. His childhood was marked by financial hardship and a difficult education at schools like Harrow and Winchester. After a challenging start, he secured a position with the General Post Office in 1834, a career that eventually took him to Ireland in 1841. This move proved transformative, fostering both a more positive personal life and the beginnings of his literary career.

Trollope married Rose Heseltine in 1844 and began writing his first novels while working as a postal surveyor, often adhering to a strict daily word count. He achieved widespread success with The Warden in 1855, the first of his popular Chronicles of Barsetshire series. He also penned the Palliser novels, which delved into political life, and the acclaimed social satire The Way We Live Now. Trollope’s keen observations of Victorian society, its institutions, and its characters, are hallmarks of his work. He died in 1882, leaving behind an extensive body of work, including an influential autobiography published posthumously.
