# James Webb

## Biography

James Morris Webb was an influential African American pastor and author, born around 1873 and passing away in November 1955. Ordained in Nashville in 1900, Webb initially served in various ministerial roles before settling in Seattle in 1903. He rose to prominence in African American religious circles following the publication of his seminal work, "The Black Man, the Father of Civilization Proven by Biblical History," in 1910. This work and subsequent writings, such as "A Black Man Will Be the Coming Universal King" and "The Third World War," established his reputation as a prophetic voice. Webb's powerful sermons were even recorded by Paramount Records in 1927. His teachings were instrumental in shaping early African American supremacist religious communities and his legacy endures through his written works exploring themes of Black history and identity.
