# John Scammell

## Biography

John Chilton Scammell was born in Farnham, Surrey, England, on October 24, 1881. His father was Isaac Scammell and his mother was Annie Eliza Chilton. He later immigrated to the United States, arriving in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1935. Before his immigration, he resided in Dorchester, Boston, in 1920, and later in Milton, Massachusetts, in 1940. He married Jessica Minerva Powers on August 24, 1921, in Randolph, Norfolk, Massachusetts. Together, they had at least one son and one daughter. John Chilton Scammell passed away on April 20, 1969, in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts, at the age of 87. He was buried in Randolph, Norfolk, Massachusetts.
