## Biography

Ayn Rand was born Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum in St. Petersburg, Russia, on February 2, 1905. Her early works included screenplays and plays, along with the novel *We the Living*. Rand achieved widespread recognition with her 1943 novel, *The Fountainhead*, which championed individualism.
