## Biography

Jules Verne was a pioneering French novelist, born in Nantes in 1828, often celebrated as a father of science fiction. Though initially pursuing a legal career to follow his father's wishes, Verne soon abandoned law to dedicate himself to writing, driven by a lifelong fascination with adventure, geography, and scientific discovery. His collaboration with publisher Pierre-Jules Hetzel led to the highly successful "Voyages Extraordinaires" series.

Verne's imagination blended scientific knowledge with thrilling narratives, producing enduring works like *Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea*, *Journey to the Center of the Earth*, and *Around the World in Eighty Days*. These novels captivated readers with their innovative concepts and often anticipated future technological advancements such as submarines and space travel. His stories explore the wonders of the unknown, inspiring countless scientists and explorers. Verne’s prolific career established him as a global literary celebrity, and his influential legacy continues to resonate today. He passed away in Amiens in 1905.
